New Hope Convalescent Ministry
In the Vallejo-Benicia area, there are more than a dozen facilities dedicated to caring for the physical needs of the elderly. Apart from hospitals providing health care, there are convalescent homes, assisted care, retirement, and home health care services providing various forms of support for a wide range of costs. The residents of these facilities are at times lonely, abandoned, forgotten, immobile, and too often without hope. Their days can become long and dull and their souls lack the feeding and ministering from a time of gathering as a church.
This ministry exists to bring New Hope through the gospel to those who are shut-in and alone. This is a missionary field in our own backyard. Even now, the harvest is ripe, but the workers are few. “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress…” James 1:27 NASV
We are currently visiting two locations every other week in Vallejo at Merrill Gardens at North Bay and Vallejo Care Center. Our visits generally last 90 minutes and include worship through song, a message from God’s word, prayers for personal needs, and a time of fellowship. Often in room visits lift the spirits of these dear ones.
Those interested in serving should contact the church office at 707-553-8780.
