Purpose
The purpose of the various women’s ministries is to equip women for their role in the home, in the world, and in the church. We desire to encourage and to stimulate women “unto good works”. This is done through one-on-one discipleship, Bible Studies, fellowship events and many opportunities to serve the Lord.
It is the desire of this ministry to see women grow in their walk with the Lord. “Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips not enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the Word of God will not be dishonored.” Titus 2:3-5
It is also our desire to see women become useful in the Body of Christ as they become aware of opportunities to concretely express the love of God through the giving of themselves, prayer, and in the meeting of physical needs. ”But speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:15,16.
Listed below are the various meetings of the women’s ministry:
Mother’s Club
The Mother’s Club is a ministry for moms with preschool age children (infant through Kindergarten) as well as expectant moms. The foundation of this ministry is the mandate given in Titus 2:3-5. In this passage, Paul instructs the older women to teach and encourage the younger women in the various areas of their lives; in their role as a believer in Jesus Christ and how that directly affects their role of wife, mother and homemaker. Our goal is to see these moms of preschoolers develop and mature, both spiritually and practically, so that “the word of God will not be dishonored” in their lives.
We meet every other month (September through May) on Monday evenings. Our Monday evening meetings are structured with a time of worship, Bible teaching and a skill mentoring activity or demonstration. On the off months, we have other opportunities for fellowship such as park days and several Saturday morning meetings.
