Emma and Allen Kiwanuka

Emma and Allen Kiwanuka are missionaries serving in their own country, Uganda. Emma was born 38 years ago in one of the poor parts of Uganda to Roman catholic parents and he came to know the Lord while attending high school in 1980. He faced persecution, but the Presbyterian church in Uganda took responsibility of him until when he came to study on scholarship in the United States at the Reformed Bible College in Michigan . He graduated and went back to Uganda in 1986. His mission started with church planting and training church leaders until when the Lord opened a door for him to attend Westminster theological Seminary in California for Graduate Studies (1994-96). Upon graduation he returned to Uganda together with his wife to begin Westminster theological College in Uganda. Emma teaches there, is the dean of the college and he is the primary teacher being assisted by few friends who travel from United States. He is married with two children, Joshua (born March 14th, 1991) and Joel (born September 8th 1992). The Lord has added to their family an orphan named Dorcus (age 11). The Kiwanuka's are missionaries being supported through NCPC (PCA) church in San Diego, California, the hosting church during Emma's studies in the United States.
About their work:
Westminster Theological College is a young college that was founded with the purpose of training church leaders in Uganda and Africa at large -- especially in the reformed churches. The Reformed church is one of the youngest in the nation and the college fits the need. Westminster Theological College is still small with two campuses - one in Kampala and the other in Mbale - and Emma is responsible for the Kampala campus, located in Zana (Zana is where Emma pastors a young church which was planted in 1997 together with team from NCPC). The college has students from Uganda and Sudan. There is a need for teachers and an administrator to help Emma accomplish the goal of the college. In addition, a facility is under construction funded by First Presbyterian Church (PCA) Fort Oglethorpe Atlanta GA.
ZCPC, is a church that Emma pastors. There are many children including orphans and Allen Kiwanuka does the work of the children by catechizing them and teaching them Bible. Nine orphans are sponsored to go to school by NCPC connections in USA. A church building is under construction and the need remains great. This coming year the church is expected to ordained elders. This young church is mission minded and committed to Biblical teaching as taught from a reformed point of view.

In Bundibgyo district there came a war by A.D.F. rebels movement from 1997 - 2001 that left many people displaced, widows, orphans and HIV/AIDS related problem. This caused a great spiritual and moral decay. Where even I Vanensio was displaced in Kampala where God opened a door and I begun to teach at West Minster theological college while at W.T.C God gave me the burden and concern for Bundibugyo displaced people. Having called to Ministry by God, I shared the vision to a number of leaders including Geoffrey, Smith, Robert, Jacob and Deo. After, time of prayer and fasting we developed an idea to begin an Evangelical and reform church. Looking at the needs perceived each member of the church leadership is authorized to establish churches and missions for places of worship and minister and teach in Hospitals, Jails (prisons), pygmies, Institutional Evangelism, the poor, afflicted and inflicted.
