Our Mission Conviction

A Passion for the Spread of His Glory to All Peoples

The Bible declares that missions is a God-fueled and Christ-centered enterprise which has as it’s main pursuit the spread of God’s glory among all peoples. Those who proclaim His glory are NOT “volunteers”: they are those under Christ's commission, called and sent for the sake of His Name. Gripped themselves by His glory, they see themselves as infinitely privileged to be co-workers with the Lord of Glory in His work.

From beginning to end, the Bible testifies to God’s passion for His glory. In Isaiah 48:11, God declares that His glory is the ultimate “end” of His actions: “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My glory I will not give to another." It must necessarrily follow, then, that the spread of His glory is the chief end for which missions exists. To miss God’s primary passion for missions is to miss the heart of missions.

The real question is not whether or not we are to be involved in missions, nor is it how many missionaries we support; rather how can we as a church live and breathe and serve so as to share God's zeal for His own glory in the spread of His glorious gospel to ever corner of this earth. “It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make You a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth” (Isaiah 49:6).
