Women’s Mentoring Groups

Consistent with the mission of CBC as a whole, the Women’s Mentoring Groups Ministry seeks to exalt Christ by making disciples. We do this specifically by walking alongside women to encourage them to grow in character until they are conformed to Christ’s image, in conviction through the knowledge of truth, and in competence by having opportunities to use their talents and spiritual gifts to serve and love others, all to the glory of God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Do you need to rediscover joy in your walk with Christ? Do you need motivation to press on to what lies ahead? Can you say that for you to live is Christ and to die is gain? Some of our most beloved texts come from the book of Philippians. In this mentoring group, you will utilize various tools to help you discover for yourself the riches in this beautiful letter as you go through the book in your personal devotions. The goal is a renewed delight in our Savior and resolve to live a life worthy of the gospel. Some of the tools we will use include memorization techniques, inductive bible study aids, help for praying through scripture, and online study resources. All you need is your bible and your favorite blank journal or notebook.

Book of Romans

(continuation from fall session)

Led by: Rosa Loving (925) 322-7770
When you study Romans, you walk into a courtroom. First, Paul calls Jews and Gentiles to the stand and finds both guilty before God. Then he explains God’s marvelous way of salvation—justification by faith! The objection is: this will encourage people to sin! To the contrary. Paul explains how the Christian can experience victory, liberty, and security. The righteousness of God received by faith makes it possible for us to live right lives; as women, learn how we can honor our Heavenly Father by pursuing Christ-likeness in our role as women. Be right with God, right with others, and having a right (biblical) view of ourselves!

Growing in Gratitude

By Mary Mohler

Led by: Margaret Tran (707) 631-2707

When jostled, do you pour forth gratitude? “But God.” These two words should produce in us the most genuine gratitude. In spite of us, our God is rich in mercy toward us! Yet, we who should be most grateful are often found joyless and lacking in thanksgiving. Life doesn’t always go the way we want, right?! As we look to the Scriptures and read through “Growing in Gratitude,” may God transform us so that we would “have a deep sense of awe ingrained in our minds… of the glorious truth that the God of the universe is infinite in all of his perfections. And he loves us.”
No matter the season, may we be women who are growing in gratitude as we rediscover the joys of our salvation in Christ.
