Dear CBC Church family,
Thank you for your prayers. The elders met for over 3 hours this Friday evening.
How do we summarize a discussion where so much was prayed about and considered?
As we prepared this update, we wanted to give you a glimpse into our hearts and minds. We searched the Scriptures, read and reviewed passages like Hebrews 10:23-25 and Romans 13 but also Romans 14. We looked at 1 Peter 2 and the Sermon the Mount found in Mathew chapters 5-7. We asked, “Lord Jesus, this is Your church, this is Your bride – what do you want done?”
Among the questions we discussed were:
- How can we show our devotion to the Word, fellowship, and prayer?
- How can we honor the recommendation of the authorities the Lord has placed over us?
- How can we best shepherd the body of Christ?
- How can we best love our neighbor?
We will share a lot more of what was discussed and how our decisions were made. So, we ask you to join us as we do something that is unprecedented for CBC:
FOR THIS SUNDAY, we will not have any of our regular meetings here at the building. However, there are a number of brothers and sisters who will make it possible for our church family to gather together through live stream: JOIN US at 10:30 am VIA OUR LIVE STREAM located at cbcvallejo.org/live.
Hear more of how we made our decision.
Be encouraged by the Word of God. Even before any of this started happening, Pastor Phil was praying and preparing to preach on love. How appropriate it is now.
In these turbulent and potentially fearful times, we know that all of us have a great desire to be together and find encouragement from the Lord. If you have any needs, spiritual or otherwise, the elders want to shepherd and care for you. Please contact us if you need anything.
“For He Himself has said, ‘I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,’ so that we confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid’” (Heb 13:5-6).
For Christ’s glory,
Alvin, Andrew, Daniel, Greg, Kevin, Jeff, Jeremy, Michael, Nick, Phil, Robert, and Thomas
