FRDV is the Pastor-teacher at Ebenezer Bible Church in Tijuana, Mexico. In addition to leading a home growth group, he teaches on Wednesdays and Fridays and preaches on Sunday mornings. He has been training men to become elders, and preparing other men and women to serve and lead in different areas within the body. FRDV is also a teacher at The Bible Institute in San Quintin. During the week, he leads prayer meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. FRDV also has a Bible-based ministry of marriage counseling. FRDV also meets once a month with the men of Ebenezer for a time of devotion and prayer. His wife, leads a monthly women’s meeting and sings in the church choir.
FRDV grew up in Central California and was a gang member starting at the age of 10. The next 15 years of drugs, crime and violence placed him in Juvenile Hall, California Youth Authority, and the California Department of Corrections. Because of his lifestyle, he was looking at life in prison because of California’s Three Strikes Law. Instead, he chose deportation, since he was an undocumented immigrant. It was God’s providence that he would be deported. After having lived in the United States for 25 years, his sudden move to Mexico was quite a shock, and he became depressed and felt lost. God placed him in a situation where he had no other option but to look upon the Cross. God brought him to Ebenezer Bible Church and Eagle’s Nest, a neighborhood east of Tijuana. Though FRDV had heard and ignored the Gospel throughout his life, God appointed this time for him to understand it. Since that time, he and his wife have been growing in Christ and serving at Ebenezer.
