MINDING MAJESTY

About the Camp

Theme
This is a study about the life of the Christian mind. It is prayerfully designed to address the habits of our hearts for the promotion of more love to Christ, for God’s glory and our joy. It is about growing in the knowledge, practice, and joy of loving the Lord our God. There is no love to God in worldly thinking. Yet the highest rule of life is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30). Godly thinking in a worldly land requires serious discipline. There are no shortcuts. Love to God is expressed in faith and exercised through a consciously disciplined thought-life.
Maintaining the life of our mind is a tremendous responsibility that for most people is never addressed. We are told what to do and not do, but rarely how to think and love. Christian discipleship begins with a disciplined mind. This is an exceedingly relevant subject, and especially in our fast-paced, over-stimulated digital age. The domination of self-serving entertainment and social media is pervasive, and the Christian mind is not immune to its distractions and dangers.
The discipline of the mind addresses our very practice of faith. It rehearses our identity in Christ. It cultivates our character and conduct. It applies the gospel to everyday life for growth in Christ. Spiritual maturity is a matter of the mind. Sanctification, practical holiness, cleanness of conscience, peace, joy, comfort, contentment, gratitude, wisdom, humility, emotional stability, ambition for Christ, and perseverance are fruits of a maturing mind stayed on Christ.
To glorify God and enjoy Him is to mind His majesty. Our focus is not so much on the mental act of thinking. The objective and pattern of thinking is much closer to the point. The most excellent employment of the mind is love, and the most excellent object of love is God. The mind, then, is a distinguished means to the end of our highest purpose: loving God.

The Early Group
The early group will arrive at CBC at 3:00 pm and depart for camp at 3:30 pm. They will eat dinner at camp.
The Late Group
The late group will arrive at CBC at 5:00 pm and depart for camp at 5:30 pm. Because of their departure time, the late group will not arrive at camp in time for dinner. Those in the late group must bring their own dinner, or bring money to stop for dinner on the way to camp. Sorry but the camp does NOT offer reduced prices for campers who miss this meal.
